Gijón/Xixón International Film Festival and EMTUSA have created a mobility plan to bring the audience closer to the event's new centres.
To make commuting from centre to centre easier, especially during the afternoon sessions in the Yelmo Cinemas at La Calzaza, the Empresa Municipal de Transportes Urbanos de Gijón S.A. (EMTUSA) and Gijón/Xixón International Film Festival have created a mobility plan which will reinforce the already established urban services.

The information about the different lines covering the Festival is the following, divided by centre:


To travel from Jovellanos Theatre or the CCAI to the Yelmo Cines you can take Línea 1, with stop at Paseo de Begoña ( next to the Carmelites Church), or Línea 12, at Plaza de Europa, both ending at Cerilleru.

Moreover, and thanks to EMTUSA's collaboration, we'll put at your disposal a special direct shuttle service so you can arrive faster*. The shuttle service will start on November 18th.

SHUTTLE 1 (round): Pza Instituto – Yelmo Cines Ocimax – CMI PumarínGijón-Sur – Hotel Begoña

19:00h – Departure from Pza Instituto Stop (c/Jovellanos)
19:20h – Departure from Yelmo Cines Ocimax Special Stop (c/Maestro AmadoMorán)
19:40h – Departure from c/Severo Ochoa Stop (in front of CMI Pumarín Gijón-Sur)
19:55h – Arrival at Hotel Begoña (C/del 17 de agosto). END OF LINE

SHUTTLE 2: Pza Instituto – Yelmo Cines Ocimax – Hotel Begoña

21:50h – Departure from Pza. Instituto Stop (c/Jovellanos)
22:05h – Departure from Yelmo Cines Ocimax Special Stop(c/Maestro AmadoMorán)
22:25h – Arrival at Hotel Begoña (C/del 17 de agosto) END OF LINE

SHUTTLE 3: Yelmo Cines Ocimax – City Centre

00:30h - Departure from Yelmo Cines Ocimax Special Stop(c/Maestro AmadoMorán)

Single stop in the centre, where the FICX party will be celebrated that night.

Price: EMTUSA general fees (1,25€ single ticket, admits passes and reduced fees with Citizen Card and Transport Card).

* Until selling out the places on each route. The bus is 100% accessible. You can access it with bicycles and/or pets (see EMTUSA normative).

The organization will not be held responsible if due to traffic or any other external circumstances from services there are delays that impede arriving on time at the sessions.


To move from Jovellanos Theatre or CCAI to the Laboral you can use Línea 1 and Línea 18, with stops at Paseo de Begoña, next to Hotel Begoña, ending at Hospital de Cabueñes.


To move from Jovellanos Theatre or CCAI to the CMI Pumarín Gijón-Sur take Línea 10 from Plaza del Instituto, ending in Pumarín. You can also use Línea 15 and Línea 18, which have stops at Paseo de Begoña, ( next to the Carmelites church), ending at Nuevo Roces and Nuevo Gijón respectively.

If you rather move by car, from the City Centre or outside of Gijón/Xixón, you have 800 parking spots available (400 covered) at Yelmo Cines Ocimax, and 280 at the Laboral's main parking, all of them free of charge. The streets around CMI Pumarin Gijón-Sur are a white zone.


Remember, you can also move in Gijón by bicycle.

Jovellanos Theatre – Yelmo Cines Ocimax:
Approx. 20 min.: Poniente cycling lane – Parque de Moreda

Jovellanos Theatre – CMI Pumarín Gijón-Sur :
Approx. 16 min.: Shared lane Avda. Schultz – cycling lane Gaspar García Laviana.

CMI Pumarín Gijón-Sur – Yelmo Cines Ocimax:
Approx. 16 min.: cycling lane Montevil-Nuevo Gijón – Tremañes (safe streets) – La Calzada.

Average time calculated at 12 km/h.


If you are coming to Gijón/Xixón by train with Renfe Cercanías, the stop at La Calzada Asturias will leave just some meters away from the Yelmo Cines Ocimax.
